Registration Policies

Please read carefully before registering for any event(s).

1. No refunds or transfers.
2. Participants who receive approval to change their registered event will not receive any refunds.
3. Participants unable to compete may still pick up their runner packet or they may have someone else pick up their packet for them.  Packets & t-shirts will not be held after the conclusion of the event.
4. Participants should confirm registration on-line and notify the Race Directors immediately if any changes are required (list will be posted beginning in August).
5. Participants under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign the race waiver.

Runner Amenities

All registered participants will receive a commemorative long sleeve T-shirt, athlete goodie bag, and finish-area refreshments.  15K finishers will also receive a finisher award (commemorative pint glass).  Register by 10/8 and have your name placed on a custom/souvenir race bib.

A short sleeve dry-fit shirt option is also available for an additional fee but must be pre-ordered by 10/8.

Registration and packet pickup

Early Packet Pickup and late registration will be held on Friday night from 5:30 to 8:30pm at ActivEde Fitness Club located at 2120 Edgewood Rd, SW in Cedar Rapids.

Race day registration and packet pickup will be held at race headquarters at Seminole Valley Park on Saturday from 8am to 9:45am. Race day registration will end promptly at 9:45am!

Participants are encouraged to register early and take advantage of early registration discounts! Please arrive early on race day for packet pick-up to avoid congestion.

Clydesdale/Athena Division

If you are a man weighing 185 pounds plus or are a women weighing 140 pounds and over, you qualify to race in the Clydesdale/Athena division. There will only be one division for men and one for women.

To enter the Clydesdale/Athena division you must indicate your preference on the Muddy Monster Registration Entry Form.

NOTE: Even if you meet the weight prerequisites you are not required to enter the Clydesdale/Athena division. Awards will be given to at least the top three Clydesdales and the top three Athenas. A Clydesdale/Athena will not be eligible for duplicate awards or age group awards.

5K Cross Country Team Division

Being that the Muddy Monster is a cross country run there will also be the ability for runners to enter as a cross country team in the 5K event.  Teams will consist of 3 participants - all you need to do to enter is have each participant denote their team name on the registration form.  Awards will be given to the top 3 teams and all winners are eligible for age group awards.

Race Registration Deadlines

• Early registration ends July 31st
• Dri-shirt orders must be completed by October 8th
• Names will be placed on souvenir race bibs if registered by October 8th
• Mail and online registration closes Friday, October 22nd (12:00pm)
• Please ensure that mail in registrations are delivered on time!
• Late registration is available Friday evening during packet pick-up
• Note: T-shirts and/or sizes are NOT guaranteed if registered after Wednesday, October 20th
